Research Paper - Discuss Paul Cox's case and the outcome

Midterm outline- Due March 18th. The paper needs to be at least 6 pages with no less than 7 references.

When you attend the meeting I want you to think about the benefits of people in prison and those that are on parole/probation attending AA/NA meetings, in your paper discuss how would these meetings help people while they are incarcerated or when they are trying to reintegrate back into society? Keep in mind the 12 steps of AA/NA, I provided a link to the steps https://www.alcohol.org/alcoholics-anonymous/. If you believe that it would not be beneficial discuss why. Provide examples and references.

Courts have ruled that the state cannot force individuals into AA or 12-step programs if the person objects the religious content.  Step 5 is - Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs, this step needs to be completed in order to move on to the next one. When a confession is made to a priest the priest cannot disclose that confession even if it is a heinous crime, does the same apply for AA?

Research and discuss Paul Cox's case and the outcome. Do you think that the outcome of his case can deter people from attending AA/NA, especially those with criminal backgrounds? Provide reasons why.
